What is Newcastle Transport?

Newcastle Transport is the integrated transport service for Newcastle, responsible for running buses, ferries and light rail.

Newcastle Transport is run by Keolis Downer, Australia’s leading integrated transport operator. 

What is the area covered by Newcastle Transport?

Newcastle Transport covers the previous Newcastle Buses and Ferries service area, including the Newcastle local government area and Newcastle harbour, and the eastern part of Lake Macquarie, between Adamstown Heights and Swansea Heads.

How can I get help to plan my trip?

Our Newcastle Transport team is available to help you plan your trip or to provide assistance while travelling around the network. We encourage you to get in touch with us by:

  • Visiting The Hub at Newcastle Interchange between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Emailing your contact details to contact@newcastletransport.info and the team will call you back to discuss your specific travel enquiries.

Where are timetables available?

For the latest and most up to date information plan your trip using Trip Planner, Opal Travel app or one of the many other travel apps available.

Whether you are planning ahead or leaving now, there are a number of ways you can plan your trip, look up times or check for travel alerts on your phone, tablet or computer.

Trip Planner and other travel apps help you plan your multimodal journey, track your bus in real-time, get notifications for any service delays and receive notifications when you’re approaching your destination.

How do I find out about school services?

It’s easy for parents and students to check their trip to and from school:

  1. Visit the school services page of our website
  2. Type you school name in the search field
  3. Select your bus route to download the PDF timetable.

Where do I find out about lost property?

Property found onboard our buses is kept at Hamilton bus depot. To make an enquiry or arrange a collection see our lost property section
