Newcastle Transport will be spreading awareness about the importance of safety around the light rail this Rail Safety Week (10 – 16 August 2020).
This year we are asking customers to always:
Be alert when around light rail.
Put mobiles and headphones away.
Stand behind the white line.
When waiting for your light rail service, stand behind the white line at all times.
Don’t rush towards closing doors.
It’s dangerous and can delay the light rail.
Hold on when you’re on board.
The light rail can speed up quickly.
