On Sunday 4 December between 4am-12pm, travel free on public transport across the Opal network to any of the live sites and watch the Socceroos take on Argentina in their World Cup match on Sunday morning. Do not tap on or off. Any tap on the Opal network with an Opal card, credit or debit card, or linked device will be refunded or adjusted in the coming days.
Football fans in Newcastle are invited to cheer on the Socceroos at 6am on Sunday morning, 4 December, at Wheeler Place, the public space next to Civic Theatre.
Additional light rail services will operate for fans travelling to the live site at Wheeler Place.
Services will operate every 15 minutes with the first service departing Newcastle Interchange at 5am. The first service from Newcastle Beach will depart at 5.15am. Alight at the Civic light rail stop to catch the action.
