Getting to Howlin’ Country
Are you heading to Howlin’ Country at Foreshore Park on Saturday 14 February?
Save your feet for boot scooting by catching a bus, tram or ferry to Customs House or Queens Wharf for a short walk to the festival gates.
Keolis have partnered with festival organisers to make getting to and from the festival as easy and quick as possible.
With two extra trams and five extra buses, we’re delivering increased capacity and reduced wait times for festival patrons. Full details below.
Light rail
On the day, there will be two additional trams operating between 11:30am – 11:30pm. Trams will arrive every 7–8 minutes during peak arrival and departure times.
We recommend alighting at Queens Wharf for a short walk to the festival gates.
Light rail services will run every 7.5 minutes from 11am until midnight and then every 30 minutes until 1am.
Buses
There will be two additional buses between 1:00pm – 11:00pm to support early arrivals, as well as three additional buses between 5:00pm –11:00pm for the peak arrival and departure times.
This is in addition to all the usual Newcastle Transport bus routes to Newcastle Interchange and Newcastle CBD.
Bus routes 11, 13, 14, 21 and 23 will take you in and out of the CBD to a Saturday timetable. Please note that from 12pm until end of service, Route 23 services will start and finish at Customs House.
Ferries
Why not park your car at Stockton and catch the Newcastle Ferry over? The Stockton – Queens Wharf ferry service takes around five minutes. Ferries run every 20-30 minutes and the last ferry leaves at midnight. It’s an 8-10min walk from Queens Wharf to the Howlin’ entry gates.
Ferry services will run to a Saturday timetable.
Please allow extra travel time and plan your trip using Trip Planner or your favourite travel app.
