Newcastle Transport recently reached out to customers with a quick survey to find out how you plan your public transport trips. Here’s what we learned:
How you plan: 40% of you use travel apps, 17% prefer map apps like Google Maps, and 9% enjoy the spontaneous approach, simply showing up at the stop!
Top travel apps: The most popular apps among you are TripView, Opal Travel, and NextThere.
QR codes at bus stops: 65% of respondents know about the QR codes at bus stops that provide real-time departure info.
Using travel apps: While there are many reasons you use travel apps, over 70% of respondents are using apps to track their service in real time
Real-time info satisfaction: 62% of you find real-time information for buses, ferries, and light rail services to be good or fairly good.
Staying informed: When it comes to service disruptions, over a third of you would like to receive updates via SMS notifications.
