Across April, there are events to suit everyone happening across Newcastle from $25 plate dates, degustation’s and the signature event, Le Diner en Blanc.

Light rail
Jump aboard the light rail to get to restaurants in the Newcastle CBD.
Newcastle light rail runs between Newcastle Interchange and Newcastle Beach with services:
- every 7.5 minutes between 7am and 7pm on weekdays
- every 15 minutes between 7am and 1am on weekends (from 3 April)
Bus
Heading to the CBD?
Bus routes 11, 12, 13 and 14 have the city covered with services every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm on weekdays and every 30 minutes between 7am and 7pm on weekends.
Heading to Darby Street?
The bus route 14 travels from Charlestown to Customs House, via Kotara, The Junction and Darby Street, every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm on weekdays and every 30 minutes between 7am and 7pm on weekends. Some services extend to Belmont and Swansea Heads.
Heading to The Junction?
Use the bus route 14 from Charlestown, Kotara and Adamstown, the bus route 12 from Merewether and Wallsend and the bus route 21 from Broadmeadow and Newcastle East.
Heading to Merewether?
Use the bus route 12 from Wallsend and Marketown or the bus route 21 from Broadmeadow and Newcastle East.
Heading to Kotara?
Use the bus route 14 from Charlestown and the CBD (some services run from Belmont and Swansea Heads), the bus route 25 from Charlestown or the bus route 26 from Wallsend and Marketown.
Heading to Carrington or Wickham?
Use the bus route 24 from Wallsend, Mayfield, Waratah and Marketown, or the bus route 47 from Jesmond, Shortland, and Mayfield.
Heading to Hamilton?
Use the bus route 13 from Glendale, Cardiff and Lambton, the bus route 12 from Wallsend and Maryland, the bus route 21, the bus route 23 from Newcastle East, bus route 26 from Kotara and bus route 28 from Charlestown and Mount Hutton
Heading to Mayfield?
Use the bus route 11 from Jesmond, bus route 24 from Wallsend and bus route 47 from Shortland.
Ferry
The ferry operates between Stockton and Queens Wharf with services every 15 minutes during peak periods and 20 minutes throughout the day and weekends.
From Queens Wharf customers can connect with the light rail at the Queens Wharf light rail stop or buses on King Street.

Adult Opal card holders and contactless card users get a $2 discount for every transfer between train, ferry, bus or light rail as part of one journey within 60 minutes from the last tap off.
Child/Youth, Gold Senior/Pensioner and Concession Opal card holders get a $1 discount for every transfer between modes.
