FAQs

Why is the competition running?

We would like students to understand the importance of tapping on and tapping off with their Opal card every time they travel to and from school and give them the chance to be rewarded for it!

Why is it important to tap on and off?

When you receive your Opal card, it is a condition of use that students must tap on at the beginning of a trip and tap off at the end of a trip at an Opal card reader.

Although your school travel is free, this provides us with important information that allows us to better plan bus, ferry and light rail services for you by helping us to know how many services need to be provided for your school.

Which schools are participating?

A select number of schools are participating in the competition. Click here to view the list and see if your school is included.

How do I win?

All you need to do is make sure you are tapping on and tapping off with your School Opal card each time you ride the bus to and from school. Each complete tap on and tap off gives you one entry into the draw – so make sure you are tapping on and tapping off every day!
